WHATIS
HALOTHERAPY

Halotherapy is the practice of breathing in tiny salt particles. A halogenerator grinds pure pharmaceutical grade salt (99.99% pure sodium chloride) into tiny micro particles that are dispersed in the cabin. Since salt is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal & anti-inflammatory, halotherapy helps clean the respiratory system, loosen mucus and reduce inflammation.

Halotherapy is like a sponge for the lungs and respiratory system. Halotherapy can help alleviate:

Allergies, Asthma, Bronchitis, Bronchial Infections, Chronic Bronchitis, Chronic Sinusitis, COPD, Sleep Apnea, Snoring, Wheezing, Ear Infections, Laryngitis (Pharyngitis), Tonsillitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Hay Fever, Emphysema, Pneumonia, Rhinitis, Sinus Inflammation/infection, Sinusitis, Smoker’s Cough.

Because salt is anti-inflammatory, halotherapy is also beneficial for Rosacea, Eczema, Psoriasis, Aging Skin, Acne, Dermatitis, Dry, itchy, Flaky Skin, Skin Inflammation.

HOWTO
HALOTHERAPY

For Respiratory Conditions and General Health:

Be sure to drink lots of water. Clothes can be left on. Shoes off please. Enter the cabin and relax for 20 min. Breathe normal is completely fine but we recommend some deep breathing. Guided deep breathing or calm music is available.

For Skin Conditions and General Health:

Be sure to drink lots of water. Shoes off please. Expose areas of skin that need salt therapy. The cabin and room are completely private so clothes can be removed.

• Leave salt on the skin as long as possible for optimal benefits.

• Inhalation of salt will clean the respiratory system. Scratchy throats, general coughing, runny nose and expelling excess mucus are common.

• For optimal benefits, we recommend enjoying salt therapy 3x/week until your condition has reduced significantly. Then bi-weekly or monthly for maintenance.

WHATIS
INFRARED

Infrared sauna uses near, mid & far infrared rays to heat objects where traditional steam saunas heat the air.

NEAR: shortest wavelength but penetrates the deepest, produces energy within the cells through ATP stimulation.

MID: increases circulation, heart rate and metabolism.

FAR: longest wavelength and closest to our own energy that we give off, which enhances our own energy.

All 3 of the infrared wave lengths used in our sauna, have ELF shielding, giving this cabin the lowest and safest ELF's on the market.

Together, the Infrared rays stimulates the lymphatic system, cardiovascular system and immune system. Our IR Sauna is good for:

Boosts immune system, relieves muscle tension & pain which can increase muscle & joint range of motion, eases sprains (after 48 hrs), eases bursitis, eases neuralgia, releases toxin build-up (alcohol, toxic metals, nicotine, sulfuric acid), aids in weight loss, improves appearance of cellulite, improves skin (tone, elasticity, color & texture, acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns, lesions & cuts), affects the parasympathetic nervous system and brings you back into rest & digest.

QUESTIONS

IR SAUNA
QUESTIONS

WHAT DO I WEAR?

We provide towels & robes for your comfort. The Halo-IR Sauna cabin is in a private room that only you will be in. Feel free to wear nothing. Loose or athletic clothing are also welcome. At this time, expect the shower to be unavailable. We encourage you to rinse off sweat and toxins after your session: extra wash towels and a sink are available in the room. If you need to shower in our float room please call to verify.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?

The Infrared sauna experience is cumulative. It may take 10-20 min your first few sessions to break a sweat. This is because our IR Sauna is heating you from the inside out. The more your body gets use to this the quicker and more profusely you will sweat.

Bluetooth speaker connection in the cabin are available for you to stream your own podcast, music or meditation. We have a tablet available as well. Feel free to bring your own reading materials as sauna sessions can last up to 45 min.

Afterwards, we encourage you to take your time naturally cooling down. We provide bottled water with a rehydrating/electrolyte drink mix from Melaleuca.

ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR INFRARED SAUNA?

Consult your primary care physician if you are under 12, elderly, have cardiovascular conditions or are on medications.

Absolute contraindicated for pregnancy, fevers, hemophilia, insensitivity to heat, intoxicated and/or alcohol abuse, pacemaker/defibrillator, joint injury within 48 hrs, implants (metal is fine. Silicone needs to be cleared by doctor.)

HOW MANY SESSIONS/TIMES A WEEK ARE NECESSARY?

Frequency of use depends on your goals and your body. Our sauna is safe to use daily. Most people enjoy 3-4x/week after your body acclimates to the heat and sweating. We recommend allowing 1 day in between sessions for the first 2-3 weeks. Hydration is very important. Please make sure you are consuming enough water and electrolytes for optimal results.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

For respiratory health, any comfortable clothing is fine. The salt air will not harm your clothing, nor leave a noticeable residue. For skin health, you want to expose the area to allow the salt to penetrate the skin. The Halo-IR cabin is in a private room for your comfort. Towels and a bath robe are provided.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?

The salt grinder will grind up and disperse micron particles of pharmaceutical grade salt into the cabin, just enough to penetrate the respiratory system when inhaled, and the skin when exposed.  DURING your session you may feel some slight tingling or burning in the sinus cavities, a tickle in your throat, a slight cough, or nothing at all. You might taste a bit of salt on the lips. AFTER your session or the next day you may experience a sore throat or upset stomach from post nasal drip, coughing to expel excess mucus or runny nose.

ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR HALOTHERAPY?

Halotherapy should be avoided if you have any of the following:  infections associated with a fever, contagious diseases, some forms of cancer (please consult your doctor), tuberculosis, cardiac disease patients, acute respiratory disease, severe hypertension, intoxication from alcohol or drugs. For your safety and the safety of all of our guests, please contact us before your session if you feel sick in any way.

HOW MANY SESSIONS/TIMES A WEEK ARE NECESSARY?

Frequency of therapy depends on the type and severity of the client’s condition as well as and their wellness goals. For respiratory, such as asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis, sinusitis, or allergies it is best to “front load” by coming in 2-3 times the first 7-10 days to saturate the airway, then back down to once or twice a week to find what maintenance looks like for you. Folks with a more severely compromised respiratory tract/condition will want to start Halotherapy at a lower concentration over a longer session time. Most skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and dry itchy skin may require a higher concentration and more frequent visits. Chronic conditions require sustained use over time for best results.
